Tawasol Holds a Training Seminar in Douala Titled “Role, Responsibilities, and Rights of Journalists in War Zones (The War on Gaza)”

The Palestine International Forum for Media and Communication “Tawasol” organized a training seminar on April 29, 2026, in Douala, Cameroon, titled “Role, Responsibilities, and Rights of Journalists in War Zones (The War on Gaza),” with the participation of a number of journalists and media professionals.

The seminar addressed the professional roles carried out by journalists in war zones, focusing on the challenges they face during coverage, particularly in light of field risks and violations affecting media workers.

It also reviewed the importance of addressing media coverage within its full context, highlighting the Palestinian narrative and the challenges it faces in the international media landscape, and the need to produce professional content that reflects the reality on the ground in Gaza.

Discussions also touched on the nature of media coverage during the war on Gaza, the challenges related to access to information, the targeting of journalists, and the role of media in conveying facts to the international public.

The seminar featured an interactive discussion on ways to strengthen the role of journalists in conveying the truth, and the importance of supporting them professionally and legally, contributing to enhancing the presence of the Palestinian narrative in the global media space.

This seminar comes as part of Tawasol’s efforts to enhance the capacities of media professionals and enable them to address the challenges associated with covering wars, and to produce professional content that reflects reality with accuracy and objectivity.
